The images played crucial role when Norwegian health authorities decided to implement the Dutch concept “ParkinsonNet” in our healthcare system.

“This is Parkinson´s” challenges the 140 years old image of the stooped Parkinson`s disease patient. It is an image Thet no longer serves the patient community, inspire the scientific or challenge the medical and political. We need real patients to stand forth, with pride. The images have been on display in cities across Europe and the US.

What do you do when suddenly you are diagnosed with an incurable progressive disease? I did everything. This film is the story about my first six years with Parkinson´s Disease, 2010 to 2015. “Nothing we have done has slowed the progression”, Dr. Stanley Fahn says in the film, so I tried almost everything. Some were silly and some were not, but what can you do? The program was produced for NRK (Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation) by me and on the night it aired it had an audience of 700 000 viewers out of a population of 5 million!
